Referenced in the liner notes of Daryl Hall & John Oates' 1973 album "Abandoned Luncheonette". Hall, a Pottstown, PA native, and Oates approached Talmadge W. Faulk at his restaurant "Toggs" on Route 724 (New Schuylkill Rd.), on the eastern outskirts of town to request use of his Rosemont Diner image on the album cover.
These images show Toggs still stands today on PA Rt# 724 at Peterman Road, but abandoned under the name "Pizza World".
Mr Faulk passed away a few years ago, and a Turkey Hill store was rumored to be built on the property.
My wife and I had eaten there back in the late 80's, and in 1991 it was abandoned, with everything inside, and has been rotting away ever since.
Numerous holes in the roof, the black mold is everywhere and the decay is unreal. I'm surprised the kitchen and dining area hasn't fallen through to the basement.... yet.
