The sky was crystal clear and the weather was perfect for "Astronomy Night" in Philly.
Stargazing sites were were set up at community centers, parks, and charter schools in neighborhoods across the city.
Observatories at Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania and The Franklin Institute opened their doors to the public.
The evening also featured a special appearance by NASA astronaut Guy Bluford, who returned to his West Philly roots to share his adventures in space at the University of the Sciences.
